Bible-class room, Presbyterian Church Hastings – January 27, 1913 at which time and place the Executive Committee of Iona College met. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed.
Canvassing for funds: It was moved, seconded and carried that arrangements be made to enable the Rev Waugh to devote three months to canvass the country to raise funds for erection of the building, subject to the approval of the Congregation and Presbytery.
Debentures: (It was moved, seconded and carried) that the secretary write to the Church Property Trustees asking for their authority to issue Debentures on the security of the school property to an amount not exceeding nine thousand pounds sterling.
Tenders: (It was moved, seconded and carried) that the Architect be instructed to draw up specifications on Plan No 3 and advertise for tenders in the Dominion and Tribune newspapers.
Teaching Staff: (It was moved, seconded and carried) that Miss Fraser get authority to secure such teachers for the school as she thinks necessary. And that arrangements be made to get for Miss Fraser a letter of Introduction to the chief agent of the Farmers’ Cooperative in London and that a letter of Credit is also obtained.
Uniforms and Books: (It was moved, seconded and carried) that Miss Fraser be authorised to make arrangements with one of the woollen mills in the Dominion for an ‘Iona’ Tweed for school uniforms; and also to arrange for badges. And further, to purchase and import such books and other school as she may deem necessary.
