Year 7 and 8 spent an overcast but warm day at the beach on Monday 15th February.  Thanks to the help and support of 11 parents along with two entertaining lifeguards we had a wonderful experience.

The morning was spent looking at reading wave conditions using equipment and getting to know the 10 beach safety rules.  Holly Black and Taylor Davis were lucky enough to participate in an IRB (Inflatable Rescue Boat) demonstration.  The waves were perfect for some board riding and body surfing.  The students had a fantastic time catching these into shore.

A big “thank you” again to the parents who helped on the day.  Also to Patience and Jason, who, with their enormous knowledge and enthusiasm, inspired our imaginations and scared us with their shark stories.
