An exhibition and sale of paintings by renowned architect and ‘master of water colour’ – William J. Rush

21 – 24 March 2024 | Iona College Sports Centre | 42 Lucknow Road, Havelock North.

For four days only, over 200 of William J. Rush’s finest works will be on display for sale at a once-in-a-lifetime exhibition held at Iona College on 22 – 24 March, with all proceeds going toward Iona College and Hereworth School.

Under the wishes from the artist’s family, these have been ‘priced to be enjoyed’, with prices ranging from $200 to $750. This gives you a unique opportunity to acquire a piece of artistic history at an incredible price. 

JOIN US ON OPENING NIGHT -  Thursday 21 March at 5.30pm, Iona College Sports Centre.      
To celebrate this event, we are hosting a Cocktail Opening,  giving you an opportunity to be among the first to view this celebrated exhibition in person, and to also purchase paintings on the night. 

Tickets to this event are complimentary, and limited to only 200 people. We anticipate this event being fully booked, so please use the button below to register your place and guarantee your attendance at the Cocktail Opening.

Sales

Sales of the paintings will begin at the Cocktail Opening on Thursday 21 March, and proceed across Friday 22 March to Sunday 24 March. All sales will be held on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. There will be no reserving of paintings beforehand, and all purchases will be conducted in person at the exhibition itself.

William J. Rush

William J. Rush is a renowned architect and painter, having designed many private homes and buildings around Hawke’s Bay including Iona College, Heretaunga School (now Hereworth), Woodford House, St Luke’s Church and the Hawke’s Bay Herald Tribune and printing buildings. He was born in Northamptonshire, England in 1872 before voyaging to New Zealand in the early 1900s where he spent the majority of his life.​​​​​​​
