The Blyth Performing Arts Centre

Fundraising for Stage Two of Margaret’s Dream

The Blyth Performing Arts Centre honours the legacy of Iona Old Girl, Margaret Blyth and is named in memory of her parents Lieutenant – Colonel Lawrence (Curly) and Ethel May Blyth.

This distinctive and sculptural building opens with a dramatic double height foyer that leads into a 400 seat auditorium with outstanding concert acoustics. But this is only Stage One and we need your support in order to complete Margaret’s dream – a music school for Iona.

Stage 2 has been designed to be added onto the existing building and will provide innovative music teaching spaces, a dance studio and instrumental practice rooms. This will be reviewed when the time comes to ensure that the completed Blyth Performing Arts Centre benefits students for generations to come.

Iona College Foundation invites all members of our College family, both past and present, along with friends from the wider community, to support the building of Stage 2 by becoming a Friend of The Blyth and purchasing a seat. Not only will this assist us in realising Margaret’s dream but it will be a permanent acknowledgment of your support for Stage Two and your association with Iona.

Bequests and gifts such as Margaret’s play a significant part in the College’s ongoing development. With only 400 seats available, we encourage you to purchase your seat as soon as possible.
