Last Thursday, The Blyth was buzzing as we welcomed dads and daughters for our 2025 Dads & Daughters' Breakfast.
Our guest speaker, Scotty Stevenson, who is a huge advocate for women in sport, shared inspiring and funny reflections on the many women who have influenced his life, personally and professionally.
He spoke about the important role parents play in supporting their daughters to grow with confidence and reminded us that girls can achieve anything they set their minds to. His message: whatever you’re doing together, be fully engaged in the moment.
The morning wrapped up with a lively Q&A session, where both dads and daughters posed questions; Scotty’s responses were both funny and inspiring. Helaina Carny asked Scotty what his most embarrassing moment on live TV was, which he said he had to think hard about, as he’s stuffed up a lot of times! He loved her question so much that he gifted Helaina with a White Ferns ODI playing shirt generously donated by his partner, NZ cricketer, Suzie Bates.
Thank you to everyone who joined us, and to those who made the morning possible.
A very special thank you to Aiden McLaughlin for bringing Scotty to Iona and to our sponsors Bay Ford, Your Space Taupō, and Procure Wines for their support.
