On Saturday, 15 November, we held a concert in celebration of the 10-year anniversary of The Blyth Performing Arts Centre. It was a wonderful moment for reflection on the importance of the performing arts at Iona College, and gratitude for the special place that The Blyth Performing Arts Centre holds in our school and indeed the wider community.
Congratulations to our current students, Helaina Carney, Bo Yank, Olivia Kee, Elizabeth Guo and Hayley Xu for your beautiful performances on the evening, it was wonderful to see the fruits of all of your hard work. Thank you also, to Kate Manahi and Jess Burke, who returned to Iona as Old Girls to share their talents with us. The concert was a great success, and I’d like to thank everyone who had a part in bringing it together, with a particularly special mention to our very own Ms Coxen for her herculean efforts on the night accompanying almost all of the performances. It was a particular pleasure to share the stage with you myself for the second half of the evening. Bravi tutti!
Fredi Jones
Director of Performing Arts
