Last week the Iona College community gathered together to acknowledge and celebrate the outstanding achievements of our girls at the annual Prizegiving.
Congratulations to all academic and special award winners for their endeavours and achievements.
A complete list of prize winners is available here.
Our special congratulations to Grace Windhager (pictured above) who has been awarded Iona College Dux for 2019, recognising her outstanding achievements at the highest level.
Grace’s list of academic accolades is long and distinguished and this year achieved perfect Excellences in all internal assessments and mock school examinations while also being committed to a leadership role within the College as Academic Prefect.
Grace has made the most of the many opportunities that have been available to her at Iona College and has been involved in a wide range of activities. In 2019 she attended both the New Zealand Student CHOGM and New Zealand Model United Nations, she impressively won the prestigious RSA Speech Competition and is a keen debater with her Year 13 team winning the Hawke’s Bay regional debating final. Grace has also been awarded Iona College’s highly coveted General Knowledge Cup three times.
She will now study Law and Commerce at Victoria University and has been awarded the Victoria University Tangiwai Scholarship – a school leaver scholarship for academic excellence, leadership and commitment to the community.
