Sport Coordinator and Coach
Permanent - Full Time
As the Sport Coordinator and a Coach, this is an exciting opportunity where you will play a crucial role in helping to plan, organise, and execute our sports programs, at Iona College. Make a difference to our community.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with the Director of Sports, and Physical Education Department to develop, implement and promote sports programs that cater to various age groups and skill levels
- Assisting with the recruiting and training of volunteers and coaches that support the Iona College Sport program.
- Developing training sessions and practice plans and collaborating with other coaches and staff to ensure program excellence.
- Coaching and mentoring athletes of all ages and skill levels.
- Coordinating schedules and managing team logistics
- Promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth among participants.
- Ensuring the smooth operation of sports activities, including scheduling, equipment management, and facility coordination.
- Promoting our programs and events to attract participants and spectators.
- Assisting with maintaining and administering budgets and resources effectively to ensure program sustainability.
- Maintaining records, evaluating program effectiveness, and implementing improvements as needed.
Key Skills
- Experience in sports program coordination, or related roles (preferred, not essential)
- Previous coaching experience (essential)
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Knowledge and passion for sports and promoting healthy lifestyles (essential)
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Ability to motivate and inspire.
- CPR and First Aid certification (preferred).
