Sport Coordinator and Coach

Permanent - Full Time

As the Sport Coordinator and a Coach, this is an exciting opportunity where you will play a crucial role in helping to plan, organise, and execute our sports programs, at Iona College. Make a difference to our community.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with the Director of Sports, and Physical Education Department to develop, implement and promote sports programs that cater to various age groups and skill levels
  • Assisting with the recruiting and training of volunteers and coaches that support the Iona College Sport program.
  •  Developing training sessions and practice plans and collaborating with other coaches and staff to ensure program excellence.
  • Coaching and mentoring athletes of all ages and skill levels.
  • Coordinating schedules and managing team logistics
  • Promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth among participants.
  • Ensuring the smooth operation of sports activities, including scheduling, equipment management, and facility coordination.
  • Promoting our programs and events to attract participants and spectators.
  • Assisting with maintaining and administering budgets and resources effectively to ensure program sustainability.
  • Maintaining records, evaluating program effectiveness, and implementing improvements as needed.

Key Skills

  • Experience in sports program coordination, or related roles (preferred, not essential)
  • Previous coaching experience (essential)
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Knowledge and passion for sports and promoting healthy lifestyles (essential)
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (preferred).
